Roc Michel 2009$22.00
Category: Red Wines.
The Mosby Roc Michel is a Rhône varietal blend of Syrah and Mourvedre. The grapes for this wine came from son Michael Mosby’s Fremir Vineyards, located in Monterey County. The name, Roc Michel, means “Michael’s rock” referring to the particular soil where the vineyard is planted and to the steadfast temperament of Michael himself. The terroir of Parkfield, earthquake capital of the world, is especially well suited for the grapes that make up this flavorful blend.
This ruby-hued, dry red wine has a succulent mouth feel and rich, ripe berry fruit with a chocolaty essence and a mysterious tropical note.
Mosby Roc Michel is a lush, satisfying wine. Enjoy it with grilled or roasted meats including beef, lamb, or game. Add dimension to hearty vegetable fare such as roasted pumpkin soup or grilled Portobello mushrooms. Equally at home served with simple desserts, as an alternative to stronger or sweeter after-dinner drinks.. Bon Appetit!

The Mosby Teroldego is a noble wine that introduces itself through a nose of almonds and flowers. The lush flavors of ripe raspberry and brown spice are followed by a smooth, lingering finish. Teroldego pairs especially well with beef, lamb, or game. Try a bottle with a grilled steak or butterflied leg of lamb. Served with family and friends, this wine turns a meal into a celebration.
The Rotaliano plain of northeastern Italy’s Trentino-Alto Adige region has been growing and producing Teroldego grapes for over 500 years. Mosby Winery is one of the few growers and producers of Teroldego in California.

Sagrantino$38.00 – $42.00
The Mosby Sagrantino was the first domestically-produced Sagrantino available for sale. Sagrantino is an Italian grape varietal that grows around the hilltop town of Montefalco in Umbria. Bill imported the cuttings and tended them in his estate vineyard for four years before his first Californian Sagrantino harvest in 2006. The wine is true to its Italian heritage; dark garnet-red in the glass, this wine offers up exotic fragrances including rose petal and horehound. The flavor combines brooding elements of tobacco, “sotto di bosco” (fruit of the forest floor) abd sassafras bark intertwined with bold dark fruit and a chewy, mouth-filling texture. The firm tannins complement these rich flavors and create a pleasantly-defined finish. This release is still a youngster so we recommend opening the wine to breathe for about a half hour, then serving it with full-flavored foods. We enjoy our Sagrantino with cheeses such as Manchego, Cabrales or Parmesan; red meats including bison, lamb, game or pepper steak; poultry such as squab or duck and any dish flavored with truffles, mint or rosemary. This wine will cellar well for 5 to 7 years.
We have 2011, 2012 and 2013 vintages available.
