This delightful Cal-Italia wine, made from estate-grown fruit. Light and clean, the soft floral nose is followed by flavors of citrus
and apricot with a crisp, mineral finish. Bill Mosby was the first winemaker in Santa Barbara county to release Cortese wine,
and is one of only a handful of producers in California. Cortese grapes are made into the wine known as Gavi in the
Piedmonte region of northern Italy.

Mosby Dolcetto is produced from carefully tended estate-grown grapes, creating a full-bodied wine that can be enjoyed with everyday meals. Deep violet-colored in the glass, the 2009 Mosby Dolcetto has pleasant aromas of brown spice and tea leaves. The tart and juicy red fruit flavors are nicely balanced by purple plum and sassafras notes, building to an honest, lingering finish. We like to serve our Dolcetto with duck, hearty pastas, or braised meats.

From the Marche, Italy, this is the varietal Montepulciano. Maple and brown spice nose, red currant fruit soft vanilla finish.
Mosby Passerina is imported from Marche, Italy. Stainless steel fermentation, dry, clean, and a hint of stone fruit in the mouth. Great with curry or other spicy foods, also a great cheese wine.
“Made from wild California plums, a noble end to a meal.”
The Mosby Primativo displays deep ruby color in the glass, hinting at its character. Rich aromas of maple, cedar and leather lead to vivid flavors of boysenberry and spiced crab apples. These integrated layers of flavor flow into a well-balanced finish with hints of toasted walnut skins. Primativo is grown in Apulie (Puglia, Italy) and is a relative to Zinfandel. The grapes for the Mosby Primativo are grown in the central coast, 20 miles inland from the Pacific ocean. This location has the ideal heat factor needed to grow good Primativo.
This wine is a natural paired with grilled meats…we like it with tri-tip, pork loin or grilled Portobello mushrooms. It’s excellent with lamb and lovely with hearty pasta dishes.
Roc Michel – Rhone Blend 2009
Roc Michel is a Rhone-style blend of syrah and mourvedre grown in the Fremir Vineyard in Monterey County. The assertive brown spice, plum, black cherry and cola flavors are complimented by the firm finish.
Rosato di Cannonau 2013
This gorgeous Italian-style rose with garnet clarity and color is produced from Cannonau grapes grown with loving care on the Mosby estate. Subtle aromas of wildflowers, raspberry and pomegranate lead to pronounced flavors of raspberry and strawberry-rhubarb pie. The clean, dry finish and palate-cleansing acidity reflect the wine’s stainless steel fermentation. Enjoy our refreshing Rosato with a variety of foods…sausages, grilled Tuscan-style chicken, chile-rubbed pork loin or tomato-based seafood dishes such as cioppino. Serve chilled.
The Sagrantino vine is indigenous to the Umbrian region of Italy, particularly around the hill top town of Montefalco. Sagrantino wines are best known for their deep red color, bold fruit flavors and firm tannic structure. The 2009 Mosby Sagrantino is a dark garnet-red in the glass, with aromatics that include warm brown sugar, licorice, wintergreen and Italian Mariscino cherries marinated in Luxardo. More playful than some of our previous vintages, the 2009 Sagrantino has brighter fruit flavors and not as much tobacco-like character. We enjoy this wine with braised short ribs, grilled backribs and grilled or roasted lamb.

This delightful Cal-Italia wine, made from estate-grown fruit.
The Mosby Stelline di Cortese, or Little Stars of Cortese is a dry sparkler reminiscent of an Italian Prosecco. This is the ideal wine to serve with brunch, as an accompaniment to a cheese plate, or simply as a respite from a busy afternoon. Delightfully effervescent, our Stelline hints at green apple flavor that leads to a dry, toasty finish.
