The
2006
Mosby Stelline di Moscato or
Little Stars of Moscato is an off-dry
sparkler. Reminiscent of an
Italian Prosecco, this is the ideal wine to serve with brunch, as an
accompaniment to a cheese plate, or simply as a respite from a busy
afternoon. The seductive nose of orange blossom is confirmed in the citrusy
flavors, with lovely tangerine peel notes in the finish. The slight residual
sugar is beautifully balanced by the refreshing acidity. Try this wine with
Pecorino cheese drizzled in honey, Prociutto-wrapped figs or an assoetment
of dried fruits and nuts. Perfect for the holidays. Best before 2010. Bill Mosby was the first winemaker
in Santa Barbara county to release
Cortese wine, and is one of only a handful of producers in California. Cortese
grapes are made into the wine known as Gavi in the Piedmonte region of
northern Italy.
The 2004
Mosby Stelline di Cortese
is
perfect for impromptu get-togethers. Serve chilled with hors d'oeuvres,
brunch, sandwiches and good times. |
