Mosby Nebbiolo
MOSBY Nebbiolo
 |
Immediately noticeable is the
Nebbiolos distinct nose of rose petal and spicean enticing promise awaiting
the palate. Then the taste . . . the Nebbiolo delivers the olfactory promise. This
is an exciting wine with an exotic and mysterious nature. Nebbiolo is the grape of Barolo, Barbaresco, and Gattinara. With
origins in the Piedmont region of Italy, Nebbiolo wine has been revered for more than 700
years.Named for the miststhe nebbiathat settle over the vineyards
during the cool mornings of Piedmonts harvest season, the Nebbiolo is probably the
most difficult grape in the world to grow successfully. And like the mists, it is
temperamental and unpredictable. |
Bill Mosby grows and
produces one of the finest Nebbiolo wines outside of Italy. The Nebbiolo vines terroir sensitivity means limited sources for the wine
worldwide. And there are only a few areas inside and outside the Piedmont conducive to its
cultivationone select hillside of the Mosby vineyards, Sori-101, for example.
The Mosby Nebbiolo delivers its full-bodied character with a sensual
passion steeped in intensity. This wine seduces with a lingering nose of wild roses amidst
a field of cinnamon, clove and ripe berries . . . penetrating the palate as glistening tar
on a hot country road, on which a Tango of rosemary and thyme is danced in simmering
cream. The finish? Long and memorablea dusty cashmere in early autumn . . .
Open this Nebbiolo now. We
have tasted this wine often since bottling and it has continued to amaze and excite us
here at the winery. Make sure to open a bottle every few months or so to experience new
levels of transformation in the wine, as that in and of itself is part of the Nebbiolo's
exotic and mysterious nature.
Enjoy this wine with robust
cheese, pasta flavorful sauces, grilled meats and vegetables, salmon or . . . with nothing
at all. The Mosby Nebbiolo . . . Please share with friends and family.
Prepare to indulge your senses and discover the Nebbiolo mystique.
